Where are we staying?

Mendocino, California

What is it like?

Roomy Safari-style tents come fully-outfitted with heated beds, down comforters, crisp cotton linens, lanterns, and more. Each tent is housed on a wooden platform with a redwood deck complete with comfy leather butterfly-chairs + table... perfect for relaxing and taking in the grand firs forest and ocean air. All campsites include a picnic table and fire ring with grill ideal for cooking, intimate fireside storytelling, and warmth during the cool mornings and evenings.

Tents have limited electricity for powering the bedside lamps and heated mattress pads. To reduce the risk of power outages, we ask that you do not use the electrical outlets for any unapproved devices. The bedside lamps have a USB port for charging compatible devices.

Spend the afternoon enjoying the serenity of the campground lounging in a hammock, reading on your private deck, or exploring the fern canyon loop trail. There is a beautiful walk from the campground to Big River where you can rent canoes and embark on an adventure up river. The same trail will take you to the Mendocino Bay Overlook where you can take in an epic view of the coast … especially nice at sunset.

For those who like fun and games, the Meadow is where you’ll find bocce ball, horse shoes and corn hole. A large selection of board games and books are easily on loan in the office. Free guided hikes are offered with the resident naturalist on Saturdays at 9am. This is a great opportunity to learn about native flora, fauna and Mendocino history.

Recharge from the day with a long hot shower. Grab a basket of fresh towels from your tent and head up to the bath house where you’ll find beautiful indoor and outdoor showers and well appointed restrooms. Nicely lit and stocked with EO Marin bath products, extras like fresh flowers, and oversized stalls for family clean-up, the bathhouse is centrally located and sure to be a well visited destination during your stay.

Our yoga practice will be outdoors, on one of the newly designed and built platforms overlooking the meadow.
