Okay people! We’ve got some serious items to talk about today: leggings. With so many companies and social influencers floating around it can be really hard to know where to invest your hard earned dollars on premium athletic wear that also withstands the test of our yoga bending, sweat drenching bootcamps, crossfit box rips, and athleisure. I mean, if you’re going to drop $100+ for leggings, they better be good, right?

In this entirely unbiased completely subjective review, I’ll be sharing my go-to leggings for every kind of activity. I consider myself a little bit of an expert given how frequently I find myself in trusty spandex (seven days a week!) and how much I just love being in the gym. AND, If you were to ask my hubby, he would definitely tell you that I own far too much athletic wear. But can we really ever have too much?! My answer is definitely never. To be super clear, none of these leggings have ever been gifted to me, these are tried and true suggestions based on where I have paid hard earned cash and research. You can almost guarantee that I’ll be rocking these leggings on any given day.

Best All-Around: Lululemon Align Legging

Time and again, I reach for these Lululemon Align Leggings. They are so lightweight that they’re perfect for high intensity workouts as stay in place so you don’t have to fidget with your clothing during a solid yoga practice. I wear these for hiking, bootcamps, yoga, barre, running. You name it and these will perform. After a little more than a year, I’ve noticed subtle pilling at the thighs but it’s hardly anything to worry over. Most colors pass the “bend over test,” too. Just make you check before walking out of the dressing room, lighter colors are more of a challenge.

Alo Yoga High-Waist Moto Legging

Best Street-to-Studio: Alo Yoga High-Waist Moto

I think just about everyone has seen these High-Waist Moto Leggings by now, with so many color options. Alo has really made an impact on the yoga world with these. I have several colors myself (black, white, and stone) and love that they’re so great for street-to-studio. As a yoga teacher, I feel slightly more put together when I wear these vs. a more plain legging. All you need is a decent top to go over a sports bra and you’re ready for drinks with the girls. These do run a bit thicker so I usually skip them when I’m heading to a bootcamp or hot yoga, preferring something that’s more breathable in a lighter weight fabric.

Best Compression: Gymshark Women Vital Seamless Legging

If you want your booty to impress, these are the the leggings you’re looking for! Just a quick view at Gymshark’s IG and you’ll understand exactly what I mean. I love these leggings for my high intensity workouts. They hug in all the right places, I always feel supported, and they don’t budge even during the most intense squat session or sprints during bootcamp. Pro-tip: follow their IG for product releases, they are always dropping to colors and sets but sell out pretty quickly since the price point is usually about half that from Lululemon & Alo!

Best Prints: Liquido Active 7/8 Legging

Liquido Active feels smooth as buttah when you’re wearing them and without fail, every time I slip on a pair of these leggings someone stops me on the street to ask where they’re from. Liquido Active is definitely worth a try! They’re super lightweight, perfect for hot yoga or any activity where you’re working up a solid sweat. I once wore mine to SUP yoga and even took a little swim. They wick incredibly and never fade. I also find their price point to be just a bit lower than Lulu or Alo—bonus!
